Our Purpose.
EmpowerHer Health Collective works alongside local healthcare providers to help more women, children, and families get the care they need.
Sometimes that means prenatal care for a mother who couldn't otherwise afford it. Sometimes it's medical equipment, supplies, or a safe place to deliver a baby. And sometimes it's simply making sure a patient isn't turned away because there isn't enough money to pay the bill.
We provide resources and support where they can make a real difference, helping our healthcare partners care for more people, strengthen their services, and say “yes” when someone needs help.
Because when a woman has access to good healthcare, the impact reaches far beyond her.
Our Story
EmpowerHer didn't start with a plan to create a nonprofit. It grew out of years of friendships, relationships, and simply finding ways to help.
Emily began working in Uganda in 2012, returning in 2013 to spend several months working with children there. Back home, her friends Kate and Sean became some of the earliest people to jump in, helping with school fees, medical care, sports equipment, and whatever else was needed.
Years later, Emily and Ugandan nurse Eron co-founded Grace Care Medical Center. As the clinic grew, so did the needs, and so did the number of people who wanted to help.
In 2025, Emily, Kate, and Sean made it official and founded EmpowerHer Health Collective, creating a way for more people to be part of the work.
Grace Care Medical Center's Journey
June 2022
Grace Care Medical Center opens its doors. Soon after, the first baby is born.
January 2023
Generous donors fund the purchase of an ultrasound machine.
December 2024
Patient care milestone reached: over 3,200 patients treated.
July 2025
Donors fund a generator, enabling life-saving care during power outages.
May 2026
Medical camp serves nearly 1,000 patients over three days.
